No Kings Protest

October 18, 2025

When I arrived at the California State Capitol to photograph the No Kings Rally, I immediately knew it would be unforgettable. Streets were packed with people carrying handmade signs, waving flags, chanting together, and showing up peacefully for a cause they believed in. The energy throughout Sacramento felt strong, emotional, and united from the very beginning.

As I walked through the crowd with my camera, I kept noticing how many different people had come together — families, students, veterans, friends, and community groups all standing side by side. Despite the massive turnout, the atmosphere remained peaceful and respectful throughout the day. It honestly felt like one of the biggest peaceful protests our nation has seen, and being there to document it in real time was an incredible experience.

Some of my favorite moments to capture were the quieter ones between the chants and speeches. People comforting each other, strangers sharing conversations, kids holding signs taller than themselves, and the emotion written across so many faces. Those small moments told the real story of the rally just as much as the large crowds did.

Photography has always been about storytelling for me, and this event reminded me how powerful images can be during moments that matter. Looking back through these photos, I don’t just see a protest — I see unity, passion, and thousands of voices coming together peacefully in the heart of California’s capital.
